When the development of ChemDoodle began, it was expected to become a companion application to the Razors. ChemDoodle would create structures with various attributes which the Razors could then analyze. Since its inception, ChemDoodle has grown well beyond its original expectations into a fully fledged 2D chemical drawing package. It has also become very popular. Consequently, the GUI for the Razors is now obsolete and cannot do basic structures with ions, isotopes, complex rings, etc. Since this functionality is available in ChemDoodle, support for the GUI of the Razors has been discontinued. The backend algorithms for simulating spectra are still actively developed and the Razors will be incorporated into ChemDoodle version 2 as widgets.

The Razors will remain active until they are incorporated into ChemDoodle, so please feel free to use them.
